Like many things these past 18 months, Orange Shirt Day 2021 presented an unprecedented problem for those wishing to commemorate the legacy of residential school survivors and victims across Canada. In response to supply shortages due to COVID-19 and a surge in demand for orange shirts in the wake of the discovery of the remains of 5143 Indigenous children at residential school sites across the country, ASD-N students in Miramichi came up with a solution.

Attention all parents of children born in 2017:

 Due to Corona Virus protocol, Kindergarten registration for September 2021 in Anglophone School District North will be changing.  This year, the first step to register your child for Kindergarten is to contact your community school by telephone between September 20th and October 8th to make an appointment for an in-person meeting at the school.

Earlier this afternoon, the Government of New Brunswick announced  changes to the Healthy and Safe Schools guidelines. These changes will come into effect on Monday, September 20th. A letter from Deputy Minister George Daley was sent home to families, outlining the changes. The four Anglophone School Districts are once again recognizing and celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day today, Monday, June 21st . In addition to the school and classroom based activities already planned,  A Celebration of Culture from 10:40 a.m. - 11:40 a.m., was live-streamed from Elsipogtog School on the Anglophone district North’s YouTube channel, at https://youtu.be/7_u3iUmDAZU

As you know, this year has been an exceptional challenge for everyone across our province, country and world.

We are also aware that we have asked our students to be incredibly adaptable and resilient as restrictions on mask wearing, in-school learning and blended learning change from day to day. We want to take this opportunity to share our gratitude with our students.
