Please find below, a video recording of the "What's New With SMART" PD session that occurred on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Dr. Losier Annex in Miramichi.

We will start the session with an overview of the basic funtionality of Windows Live Movie Maker.  We will import a video, learn how to do basic editing, add a title, add transitions and export.  You can use any video footage you might have on your computer or you can download the sample video below.

Activity 1: Basic Edit and Export (Beginner)

  • Import a piece of video
  • Trim beginning and end of video
  • Add a title
  • Add Fade In and Fade Out
  • Export Video

Activity 2: Rhyan Wakes Up (Intermediate)

  • Download the rhyan-wakes-up folder
  • Import the raw video footage
  • Using the storyboard as a guide, edit the footage
  • Add sound fx
  • Add music
  • Export

Activity 3: Stopmotion (Beginner +)

  • Download the stopmotion-photos folder
  • Import the photos
  • Adjust the duration of each photo so that the photos play like video
  • Adjust the duration of photos that can be on the screen longer (hint: usually the first and last photo of each 'action')
  • Export
