There were plenty of smiling faces spotted at the JMH Track on Tuesday, June 18th as approximately 600 students from Miramichi Inner City schools participated in the 2019 ASD-N Elementary Track and Field Meet for Grades 3-5. Schools participating on this day included Gretna Green, King Street Elementary, Max Aitken Academy, Miramichi Rural, Napan and Nelson Rural. Students competed in a total of 10 different events, including the 100m, 200m, 800m, 60m hurdles and 4 x 100m relays, as well as the Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Discus, and Softball Throw. In addition to these events, students also participated in an ASD-N Ninja Warrior Course and Balance Master Competition. A great day was had by all, and on Wednesday, June 19th an additional event will be held for all Miramichi and Rexton area rural schools.
