ASD-N Holds its Third Annual Elementary Drama Festival

Anglophone North elementary schools had the opportunity on June 1st to participate in the districts 3rd annual elementary drama festival.

Three schools participated this year.  Gretna Green School put on the play “Aladdin”, directed by Krista Bransfield.  Napan Elementary’s play was “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” and was under the direction of Cheryl Carroll.  Nelson Rural’s play was under the direction of Mary O’Neill-Delano and their play was “What a Knight”

Adjudicators of this year’s festival was done by Cynthia McGinnis and Michelle Tobin-Forgrave.  The two adjudicator’s also presented special awards in 6 different categories.

Award winners were:

Napan Elementary for Outstanding Choice of Material 

Gretna Green for Outstanding Use of Costume

Nelson Rural for Outstanding Production

Nelson Rural for Outstanding Use of Set Design

Lexi Hurshman from Napan Elementary received the “Special Adjudicator’s Award”

Calley Taylor from Napan Elementary received the “Outstanding Performance Award”

 Students also received the opportunity to attend two learning workshops that were put on by Dave Gopee and his JMH drama students.
