Checkmate! ASD-N Students Participate in District Chess Tournament in Rexton

Rexton Elementary School was abuzz with plenty of action on Saturday, March 16th as students from the Miramichi and Rexton area schools took part in the first of two District Chess Tournaments taking place this year. The Northern region event will be hosted at Lord Beaverbrook School in Campbellton on Saturday, March 23rd.

Students from Grade 1-8 turned out in large numbers to the tournament held in Rexton for hours of intense, strategic chess action. At the end of the day, top finishers were identified to represent ASD-N at the upcoming Provincial Chess Tournament taking place at Millidgeville North School in Saint John on April 13th.
