Anglophone North prides itself on the many programs and volunteers it sees each week at all area schools throughout the district. Rexton Elementary is no exception and is very grateful for the wonderful support it receives with it's ELF Program. RES has many dedicated volunteers and one in particular is sending out a challenge to other Veterans across the province to get involved! Robert (Bob) LeGoff is past District Commander of Northumberland/Kent District and past President and member of the Richibucto Legion Branch #30. Bob is a very selfless volunteer giving his time each week to help a grade 2 student! Bob is a retired teacher, a retired veteran and he sees so much potential in helping young people become better citizens! To quote Bob, "There are countless resources to guide anyone who decides they would like to help a student by giving a few hours of your time and in doing so help your community gain another contributing member of our society. I like to look at it as a little of my time makes a lot of difference to a very grateful student." "We explain to the student we are not "teachers" we are simply their "friend" who will help them in any way we can to enjoy reading the way we enjoy reading."
Bob is challenging other Legion Branch members to get involved and make a difference in a child's future! Please share this wonderful story and spread the word!
