The new K-5 school in Miramichi East is scheduled to welcome 400 students when it opens its doors in September 2017.
The Anglophone North School District has selected a naming committee which will be responsible for submitting three new school names to the District Education Council for their consideration.
The naming committee is looking for help from the public in this process.
If you wish to submit a name for consideration, please email your proposed name, along with a short rationale as to why you feel the name is justified, to the following email address: miramichieast@nbed.nb.ca.
Please include your name and contact information.
If you do not wish to submit by email, you can submit your proposed name and rationale on a blank sheet of paper and place it in a sealed envelope clearly marked Miramichi East Naming Committee and drop it off at Ian Baillie Primary or St Andrews Elementary School or at the School District Office at 78 Henderson Street, Miramichi E1N 2R7.
Submissions will be accepted until October 19, 2016 at 4 pm.
All submissions will be reviewed by the naming committee. The committee will recommend three names to the District Education Council who in turn will forward the approved names to the Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. The Minister will select the new school name from the submitted proposals.
We look forward to reviewing many applications from the public on this exciting project for our City!
