17 year old Bathurst High Student, Toni Mullen attended a two week excursion in Northern Canada and Greenland. Toni, who can be seen holding the Bathurst Flag, attended with 100 students as an international youth education program. Educators on the trip included climate change scientists, glaciologists, teachers, historians and Inuit elders.

The 2016 Students on Ice Arctic expedition took place between. July 21 to August 5, 2016 and was a hands-on experience for youth designed to expand their knowledge of the changing circumpolar world, foster a new understanding and respect for the planet, and gain the inspiration and motivation needed to help lead us to a healthy and sustainable future.
