The Anglophone North School District Science Fair was held
April 3rd at James M Hill High School. Fifty entries by middle and high
school students were reviewed by the panel of judges, a process that involved
viewing a display and interviewing the participants about their project, what
brought about their interest in it, their experimental methodology and where
their continuing interest might lead them. A list of the projects the judges
felt were the top three as well as those worthy of honourable mention are
listed in the attachment below. These projects are eligible to advance to the River
Valley Regional Science Fair in Fredericton on April 16th.
While waiting their turn to present
their work to the judges, middle school students had the opportunity to
experience the kinds of science experiments they will face when they reach high
school. This was under the direction of JMH physics teacher Mr. Peter MacDonald
and some of his students. For photos of
the fair visit Miramichi
