The Anglophone North School District Oratory and Spoken Word Poetry competition was held in Bathurst on Saturday April 20th. In the Oratory portion Robyn Phillips of Dalhousie Middle School placed first for middle school and Yara Ubaidat of Bathurst High School won the senior division. In the Spoken Word Poetry competition Lauren Tulloch of Superior Middle School won for her division and Olivia Hamilton of Bathurst High won the high school category. The top two finishers in each category will participate in the provincial competition at St. Thomas University, Fredericton, May 24th and 25th. Gratitude was expressed to the judges: Oratory - Donnie O’Neill, John Bosma, and Sheila Rogers and Spoken Word Poetry - Beth Stymiest, Ora Watson, and Andy Watson.
