ASD-N Schools Host American Educators

Posted: November 6, 2013

On November 5th ASD-N was host to five educators from Preston Middle School, Fort Collins, Colorado. The visiting teachers had the opportunity to visit Gretna Green Elementary School, Miramichi Rural School and James M. Hill High School. The purpose of their visit was to become familiar with the approaches some of our district schools are taking towards learning in the 21st Century. There was particular interest in seeing how Smart Boards are being used in the classroom but the visitors were keen too, to talk to local educators about the use of technology and to see some of the innovative teaching being used. The visit to ASD-N was part of a tour to visit other schools in New Brunswick. As they departed one member of the visiting group expressed amazement at how well students seemed to be connected to their community and to the "real world". They considered the visit very worthwhile. In the accompanying photo Gretna Green principal Keith Comeau directs two of the American guests as they present the school’s morning announcements.
