ASD-N Students Promote Anti-bullying Week

Schools across ASD-N are participating in programs and activities as part of the Anti-Bullying campaign being held across Canada this week. Campbellton Middle School hosted a “kick-off” event first thing  Monday morning that was streamed live via the internet to schools across the province. The event featured addresses by NB Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Marie-Claude Blais and ASD-N Superintendent Elizabeth Stymiest, amongst others. Students staged various presentations including First Nation drumming and dancing. Photo on left is of Campbellton Middle School.      The nature of activities being conducted in various schools is typified by Nelson Rural School of Miramichi. Posters have been created by students for the international  “Rights of the Child Day”,  Wednesday, November 20th. Other daily events at the school include presentations delivered to students in Grades 5-8 on Cyber-Bullying, Rights of the Child, and Bullying awareness. On Thursday the school is focusing on diversity awareness with a Colombian Day tying in with the school’s hosting of 2 international students from Colombia.
