Broadcast Journalism Students Involved in Pond Hockey Tournament Project

Posted: February 7, 2009

Students Ashlee Arbeau and Aaron Malley took part in the taping of three hockey games at the Miramichi Rotary Pond Hockey Tournament February 6th, 2009 at French Fort Cove, Miramichi. The games involving CFB Gagetown teams were then streamed over the internet for viewing by Canadian troops in Afghanistan, some of whom participated in this tournament in 2008. This project was a joint endeavor between NB School District 16, the Miramichi Rotary Pond Hockey Tournament and the telecommunications company, Aliant. Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended the tournament Friday evening to take part in the opening ceremonies along with Miramichi M.P. Tilly O'Neill-Gordon.
