Campbellton Middle School Guys’ Night

Posted: November 1, 2012

Recently, Campbellton Middle School held a fun evening for boys from CMS and their fathers, grandparents, or other male adult role models. Mr. Graham, our vice-principal, says that “The goal of the event was to welcome fathers, grandfathers, and father figures into the school. They play a huge role in the lives of the young males at CMS, and we don’t often get to see them, as mothers are most often involved when it comes to anything to do with their children’s education.” Some of the younger and “older” guys played basketball, others played floor hockey and some played video games. We also had lots of little competitions such as the cup stacking challenge, balloon walk, wheel barrow race and balloon bust relay. There were prizes drawn, and we had a snack of pizza, juice and water, if we built up an appetite after all of the playing. The prizes were great and the pizza was tasty! We had a great time and so did our older male role models. We’re sure that those who participated will recommend it to others in the future. We would like to thank our sponsors for the prizes because none of this could be made possible without them! All and all, we had a great night and would love to do it again!  Story contributed by Logan Geraghty (Grade 7)  and Luke McGowan (Grade 8)
