On Friday October 9th District 16 hosted a delegation of Colombian educators who were on a tour of New Brunswick education facilities and programs. The visitors were representatives of Study Union International of Bogata and Colombian school administrators. They were familiarizing themselves with local educational opportunities with the view to arranging for Colombian students to enroll for all or part of a school year in New Brunswick schools.
Their visit included familiarization of District 16’s use of technology for learning and collaboration as well as learning of its long record of hosting international students. Presently two of the thirty-five international students attending District 16 schools are from Colombia. The visiting delegation included Jorge Otero, Diana Gil, Sonia Correa, Martha Cristina Gallego, and Alejandro Cárdenas.
