International students attending Dalhousie Regional High School recently participated in fund raising for the Restigouche SPCA in a manner that enabled them to meet many local residents, practice their language skills and learn about Canadian society, in addition to making a meaningful contribution to the community. They bagged groceries at the Atholville Atlantic Super Store for six hours and received $1200.00 in donations for the local animal shelter. The German, Chinese, Brazilian and Dutch students, attending Dalhousie High through Atlantic Education International, were well received by store manager Jean Guitar and assistant manager Joey Lapointe who greeted them warmly, appreciated their involvement and treated them with cake.
