A group of Gretna Green Elementary School grades 4 and 5 students are about to launch Defenders of Middle Island™, a video game they have produced in collaboration with New Brunswick Community College-Miramichi. The launch, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 12, at 10:00 a.m. at the school, will be followed-up with the game being featured on June 19 at 4:30 p.m. at the Jalloo Festival of Animation taking place at NBCC-Miramichi. At the launch on June 12, Ms Caroline Daley, Middle Island Curator, will make a presentation to students involved in the project: Keisha, Braydan, Cameron, Hunter, Aaron, Dylan, Skyler, and Colby. The game features some of the ships participating in the Fesitval of Tall Ships taking place in Miramichi this weekend. The project, also involving NBCC students,  is being coordinated by Gretna Green vice-principal Krista Bransfield and Kevin Gallant of NBCC.
