District 16 played host Friday April 16th to the annual provincial District Education Council (DEC) Symposium. This year's theme was "Educating Today for Tomorrow". This provided an opportunity for the showcasing of local projects and courses that represent key aspects of 21st century learning as presented in the New Brunswick's Department of Education strategy titled "NB3-21C". Presentations were also made from Districts 2, 8 and 15. Attending the symposium were 90 delegates from each of the provinces DEC's as well as representatives from the New Brunswick Department of Education and Parent School Support Committees. The presentation topics varied from international collaboration on a project involving light pollution to student produced morning video announcements at a primary school.
