During this last week of classes District 16 is holding its annual two days of track and field events for all the grades 3 to 5 students in the elementary schools in the district.  Day 1, June 22nd, 2010, saw hundreds of energetic students from Croft, Gretna Green, Harkins, Ian Baillie, Miramichi Rural, Napan, Nelson and St. Andrews elementary schools compete. They participated in sprints, distance running, relays, hurdles, discus, javelin, softball throw and long jump. On Wednesday June 23rd the remaining district elementary schools as well as students from the First Nation Schools in the area will participate in this highly organized and well run event.
