"The face of grade 9 and 10 is changing in District 16. Research has taught us that change is needed if we are to keep students engaged and to prepare them for the workplace of the future. The only thing we know for sure is that the workplace of the future will be different than it is today. Discussions are ongoing as to what the next evolution of high school will look like. One point that is emerging is that changes must occur if our students are to meet the challenges of the 21st century."
This opening statement introduces the brochure What You Should Know, (ATTACHED BELOW) being distributed to students entering grade 9 this fall. The brochure provides students and parents with an outline of requirements and expectations of the five District 16 High Schools and explains the approach being taken to provide an education for the 21st century.
