An Introduction that Lasts a Year!

Posted: September 7, 2010

District 16 students entering Middle and High School grades for the first time were treated to a purposeful but fun-filled day today as they started the 2010 – 2011 school year. Programs called WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) and Boomerang (You get back what you put in) for Middle School and High School respectively, are designed to make the transition to secondary school a positive and supported experience through the initial first day orientation and for the entire school year.  The new students were given an opportunity to get to know their school building, meet some of their older schoolmates, enjoy a barbecue and  meet their teachers in an easygoing start to the school year. The efforts to welcome the students seemed to be well received as there was a good deal of energy and excitement exhibited by all participants, students and teachers alike. Relationships with mentors created today will be nurtured as the academic year progresses. For more photos visit http://www.district16.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/web-and-boomerang .
