New Eleanor W. Graham Middle School Construction

A sod turning ceremony was held on Wednesday September 24th for the new Eleanor W. Graham  Middle School  in Rexton, New Brunswick. Taking part in the ceremony were: NB Premier, Shawn Graham; NB Minister of Supply and Services, Ed Doherty;  Mayor of Rexton, David Hanson; Rob MacPherson, President, Scotia Learning Centres Inc., the projects private partner; and EWG School Principal, Danny Scully. To view more photos from the event visit http://www.district16.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/ewg-sod-turning-ceremony . The new Eleanor W. Graham Middle School to open for the 2010 school year, is being built on Albany Road in Rexton. It will cover 5,574 sq. metres (60,000 sq. feet) and accommodate 350 students. The facility will include:    13 classrooms;  three classrooms for students with special needs; a resource centre; a music room; a technology education room; a science room; a visual arts room; a computer room; a cafeteria and kitchen; a gymnasium; and a native cultural centre  (1) (1) NB Government News release Aug 7, 2009.
