Four schools in the northern region of Anglophone North School District, along with the Bathurst Education Centre, recently completed a very successful clothing drive in partnership with the New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL). Their efforts resulted in the collection of 1612 bags of used clothing resulting in over $3 200.00 in donations from NBACL which will be used by the participating schools for various projects such as:- The Buddy Club at Bathurst High School - The local SPCA to assist students with intellectual disabilities when volunteering at the shelter - Books for school libraries - Continued project with The Robert L Knowles Veterans Unit with Janeville Elementary Students Participating Schools were: Jacquet River School – 229 bags, Janeville Elementary School – 217 bags Bathurst Education Center and BHS – 457 bags and Tide Head School – 709 bags. Project co-ordinator Audrey Ronalds, ASD-N Community Engagement Coordinator, gives special thanks to community school co-ordinators Aysleigh Lefurgey and Cindy Courier.
