Sheree Fitch, the well known Maritime based children’s author and poet delighted hundreds of Miramichi elementary students with her visit to three area schools on Tuesday November 27th. She recited many of her poems, known for their alliterative tongue twisting delightful plays on words. She strongly encouraged all her audience members to write creatively, outlining for them what is needed to be a writer and how long it sometimes takes to develop a piece of writing to the point of writer satisfaction. She had an enthusiastic audiences which totaled more than 1000 children by day’s end with long queues of book owners seeking her autograph after each session. She kindly obliged. She was very warmly received at the three schools visited; Gretna Green, Saint Andrews and Blackville School, with the audiences including students from all the nearby schools.
