The launch of the Go for 42 Initiative was held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Harkins Elementary with students, staff, parents and community members in attendance. This Kindergarten to Grade 8 initiative is led by MANGO and will take place in local Miramichi area schools from May 11th until June 12th. Students will attempt to accumulate 40 kms of running/walking during that time. They will receive colorful shoe tags to mark their progress. On Sunday June 28th at 11:00 am students are encouraged to participate in the Mango Kids Fun Run which will complete the last 2.2 kms. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 launched the initiative by walking the first kilometer as a group. It was followed by a nutritious snack provided by their Home and School Committee. The registration form for the Kids Fun Run is available on the Anglophone North School District Website and information about the initiative was sent home to parents.
