Throughout April Skills Canada New Brunswick holds a series of province wide skills competitions for High Shool students in ten different trades at various locations in N.B. On Saturday April 17th the competition for Automotive Service was held at Nepisiquit High School in Bathurst. Four ASD-N students participated in this event and it was a clean sweep for ASD-N with Kolen Jones of James M. Hill H. S. receiving bronze, Brandon Doucet of Sugarloaf Senior High School receiving silver and Pierce Boudreau also of SSHS, receiving gold. Pierce will go on to represent New Brunswick at the National Skills Canada Competition this May in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. SSHS industrial teacher, Mr. Bill MacDonald, who organized the event in Bathurst, is very appreciative of the support received by the Volkswagen car company, particularly as the national event is based on VW vehicles. Staff and students of SSHS are proud of Pierce’s achievement and wish him well at the national championships.
