The District 16 Education Council honored Superintendent Laurie Keoughan at a retirement dinner on November 16th at the Miramichi Curling Club. Mr. Keoughan will be retiring at the end of December after contributing 35 years to the education system. The dinner was well attended by colleagues, friends and family members. Greetings on behalf of the Minister of Education were delivered by Zoe Watson, Assistant Deputy Minister. As well, best wishes were extended on behalf of the principals and vice-principals, the District 16 Office, and his family by Claude LaBerge, Richard Walsh, and Father John Keoughan, respectively. Patricia Lee, DEC chair, thanked Mr. Keoughan for his many years of dedication, commitment and service to School District 16.
