The Miramichi Rotary Pond Hockey Tournament takes place this weekend and once again students of District 16 will be involved in video recording games and interviews from the ice surface. This is the third successive pond hockey tournament in which students have had the opportunity to use technology to present the tournament to a broad audience via the internet. This authentic community based involvement gives the students a chance to apply classroom learning in a direct and meaningful way and have their efforts published. Visit Miramichi D16 Pond Hockey Blog and see the how they manage and find out what is happening at the pond hockey event. Pictured at left getting into the spirit of things are Croft Elementary School students in grades 2 and 3, participating in their own outdoor hockey tournament at their school on Wednesday of this week.
