Many schools across Anglophone North School District have stepped up in a variety of ways to help raise awareness and funds for the people of Ukraine.
Schools across the district have organized community events such as walks and breakfasts to engage local support, offering the opportunity for learning beyond the classroom.
Millerton School Principal Tom McCabe was thrilled with the huge success of their recent event.
"A big thank you to the staff that worked at our breakfast, to the enertainment from the community, the students who added their voices, and to the people who supported the breakfast so generously. As of now, we have raised over $3400 for Ukraine relief. Just as important, it is a chance for our school community to take action in this time of tragedy and for our students to know their voice matters. Again, thank you to everyone who made this possible for our little school with the big heart."
ASD-N commends our schools for demonstrating leadership and global citizenship, and thanks all those in our communities who have supported school initiatives.
