Harkins Middle School recently enjoyed the science enrichment activities provided by Fredericton based Science East™. Two days of classroom demonstrations culminated in an evening community based event titled "ILLUMINATE", Thursday November 9th. The purpose of this showcase was to “shed light” on how science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) are used by professionals in the Miramichi region. It is expected that students will then be better able to understand how these subject areas may influence their eventual career choices and assist them in the decisions they will be making in their education in the coming years.
