The teaching of Mrs. Carolyn Simmons of Gretna Green Elementary School was recognized at this year’s Minister’s Excellence in Teaching  Awards celebration in Fredericton this past weekend. In describing the award the NB Minister of Education Mr. Jody Carr stated "These awards recognize and honour dynamic educators who have displayed outstanding skills in supporting the needs of diverse learners at the school, district and / or provincial level. It is a small way that we can thank our educators for their exceptional commitment and dedication to our children's learning." Mrs. Simmons, presently teaching grade 3, was selected for the former School District 16.
