Posted: May 22, 2013

A class of grade eight Eleanor W. Graham Middle School students and two of their  teachers recently completed a 16 hour Standard First Aid, CPR and AED course offered by the Saint John Ambulance Training program.  The certificate, valid for 3 years, certifies them to offer emergency first aid, provide Cardio-pulminary Recuscitation (CPR) and use an AED ( Automated External Defibrillator) that can improve the survival of someone who has gone into cardiac arrest. Instruction was provided by a Certified Instructor for Anglophone North Schools, EWG Teacher, Mr. Paul Mourant. The training was provided at no cost to the students being offered each day for 45 minutes as part of the health program. Each student had to participate in the theory and practical activities and successfully complete a final exam.
