A Literacy Accomplishment - with ELF

Posted: June 12, 2014

Congratulations to Astin Brimsacle, a grade 2 student at Jacquet River School, who recently successfully completed a literacy program with the support of ELF community volunteer Jamie O'Rourke. The school is very proud of Astin’s accomplishment and grateful to Mr. O’Rourke.     Elementary Literacy Friends (ELF) is a volunteer-based literacy tutoring program helping Grade 2 students who would benefit from additional one-on-one reading activities. Many ASD-N Elementary schools are looking for volunteers for their ELF programs for the fall of 2014. Please contact your community’s elementary school to see if you can assist in this valuable service or; contact Community Schools Coordinator Cindy Courier at 547-2806 for the Bathurst/Jacquet River area or Community Schools Coordinator  Aysleigh Lefurgey at 789-7326 in the Campbellton/Dalhousie area . For more information on the ELF program see the attachment below.
