On Saturday, May 2nd, 23 French Immersion and Post-Intensive French students from ASD-N travelled to the Université de Moncton to take part in the provincial Concours d'art oratoire. All the students did very well and represented our district with pride. Dominic Laviolette, a grade 12 student from Bathurst High School received first place in the Early French Immersion category and won a trip to Ottawa to compete in the National French Oratory Competition. Five other ASD-N students walked away winners as well: Merissa Landry from Superior Middle School, 2nd place in the Grade 7/8 Post-Intensive category Robyn Phillips from Dalhousie Regional High School, 3rd place in the Grade 10 Early French Immersion category Nathan Pio from Bathurst High School, 2nd place in the Grade 11 Late French Immersion category Brianna Long from Bathurst High School, 3rd place in the Grade 11 Late French Immersion category Laura Jardine from Blackville School, 2nd place in the Grade11/12 Post-Intensive French category Congratulations to the competitors and winners!
