Due to construction delays with the renovation project at Gretna Green Elementary School, the planned opening day for students on Tuesday, September 8th has been moved to Wednesday, September 9th.
The staggered entry for new Kindergarten students is also delayed. Students who were to start on Tuesday, September 8th will now start on Wednesday, September 9th, and students who were supposed to start on Wednesday, September 9th will now start on Thursday, September 10th.
As you are aware, renovations to change Gretna Green from a K-6 school to a K-8 school began this summer and will continue into the school year. District officials are working closely with the contractor and the district and school teams to ensure that the building is ready for students and that student safety remains at the forefront of all decisions. Further inspections will occur on Monday, September 7th to ensure that the school is ready to be opened and if a further delay in opening day is required, parents and guardians will be notified. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Office of the Superintendent or Principal Keith Comeau.
