Schools
across ASD-N last week recognized Pink
Shirt Day. The purpose of the day is
to help establish awareness about the harm of bullying and to finding means to
educate students on how to work towards a bully-free school. Typically the day is organized by students
themselves and it uses a peer to peer approach. Here are some links to photos of activities in
several ASD-N schools. Bathurst High
School, Saint

personal hygiene products (such as toothpaste, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes),

Pink
Shirt Day across Canada is Wednesday February 25th. Pink Shirt Day originated
in Nova Scotia when two students organized the day to protest against bullying
in their school. They distributed pink shirts to all of the boys to wear in
empathy with a boy who was being bullied. The day has grown over the years and
now we are all asked to wear pink on this day to help stop bullying. A number
of schools in ASD-N are marking this day, on or about Feb. 25th. On-going
ant-bullying campaigns are conducted throughout the school year in many
schools. For more information visit Pink
Shirt Day .
