Celebrating Home Learning Notes

Celebrating, Sharing and Supporting Home Learning in Anglophone North School District

Notes

Allie and Aubrey Guitard have continued to learn with the help of their mom and dad by taking to the outdoor to produce informative nature videos. They have created their own YouTube channel and Facebook page called Nature Kidz where they have done videos on pine trees, how to make maple syrup, and information about how to care for baby chicks. A local singer has written them a theme song which they made a music video for and a local artist has has donated beaded necklaces and keychains for the girls to do giveaways!

Students at King Street Elementary were to choose an animal native to NB to research. Teddy and Millie Canistro took it a step further and made this awesome animated informational video.

Anglophone North School District has always looked for ways to share and celebrate learning. This sharing and celebration has often taken the form of face-to-face gatherings like STEM Fest and Discover. Just because we can’t gather students and educators together, doesn’t mean there isn’t innovative and unique learning taking place in homes across our district.

Our teaching and learning look different right now and we want to find a different way to share, celebrate and support this learning.

We are inviting teachers to submit examples of student home learning.

These examples of learning might include something a student shared with you that:

  • Made you proud

  • Surprised you

  • Went beyond expectations

  • Made a change in their community

Each week we will make a random draw from all submissions for a prize package provided by Brilliant Labs to support your home learning activities.

Draw dates:

May 15, 2020

May 22, 2020

May 29, 2020

June 5, 2020

We are looking forward to seeing innovative learning continue across ASDN.
