The Summer French Program is a four-week French second language program administered by the Université de Moncton, Moncton campus.  Grades 9 and 10 students enrolled in French Immersion or Post-Intensive French are encouraged to apply.  The program will run from July 1st to July 27th 2018.

Everyone (all ages) is welcome to attend at the Dalhousie Inch Arran Arena on December 10th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Admission is free and we will be serving hot chocolate and cake. On November 20th 2017, all Kindergarten teachers participated in bringing joy and purposeful play to our classrooms. Kimberly Stewart and Dr. Sherry Rose shared igniting opportunities for reinforcing the tremendous value of children’s play. Children are designed to play! Play helps develop social skills, memory, emotional awareness, and creative problem - solving. Play isn’t a luxury! It’s a Necessity!

As adults and children, play has an essential role in fueling our happiness and intelligence throughout our lives and it is essential to our health as sleep and food. Let’s Play!

The Senate 150th Anniversary Medal commemorates the first time senators came to Ottawa to sit in Parliament, on November 6, 1867.

The rollout of STEM Bins has been completed in ASD-N and an exciting new competition has been launched.  K-1 classes from around the district are invited to participate in monthly STEM challenges in their classrooms and compete for prizes.  Teachers are asked to share pictures and videos of their students completing the challenge and their names will be entered into a draw for a prize. These challenges will be sent out via e-mail each month.

Max Aitken Academy was filled with plenty of energy and excitement on Thursday evening as it hosted "Brilliant Night". This outstanding event was planned and organized by ASD-N Numeracy Leads Kelly Richard and Kelly Russell and featured numerous STEM and Math related activities for K-5 students, although many parents seemed to be having a great time as well. There were numerous stations set up throughout the building including a dynamic Brilliant Labs display featuring an Interactive wall, m-bots, coding catepillars and more.
