Anglophone North prides itself on the many programs and volunteers it sees each week at all area schools throughout the district. Rexton Elementary is no exception and is very grateful for the wonderful support it receives with it's ELF Program. RES has many dedicated volunteers and one in particular is sending out a challenge to other Veterans across the province to get involved! Robert (Bob) LeGoff is past District Commander of Northumberland/Kent District and past President and member of the Richibucto Legion Branch #30.

New Brunswick Youth Orchestra

The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra is looking to find additional billeting host families who can provide two nights of bed & breakfast for a minimum of two (2) NBYO members on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd. Billeting hosts will be welcomed to the Sunday, December 4th NBYO concert with complimentary tickets. The NBYO concert is on Sunday, December 4th at 2 PM in the James M. Hill Memorial High School Auditorium.

Tickets for the event may be purchased locally at the Boys & Girls Club, Scotts Pharmasave, and the Brookdale Flower Shop.

Note that the last day of classes at both Croft Elementary and Harkins Middle School will be December 21, 2016 and the first day of classes at Max Aitken Academy will be January 11, 2017.

Information nights, regarding program selection for September 2017, will be held in Anglophone North School District from November 21 to November 24 (see dates below). The session will outline French programming, options to learn French, and about French Immersion entry points for learners entering Grades 1, 3 and 6.

Dalhousie Regional High School held their annual “Trick or Eat” food drive on October 31st.  Grade 9 students went door-to-door, in costume, collecting non-perishable food items for the Restigouche County Volunteer Action Association (RCVAA) food bank.  Total amount collected for this year was 1195 pounds of food valued at $2987.50.  This will help members of our community who are in need.  Way to go DRHS!

The Miramichi East Playground Committee is entering the Aviva Community Fund Contest. The committee would like everyone in our beautiful community and beyond to vote for the playground. They are hoping to win $100 000 for their cause.

Anglophone North Schools welcomed 120 international students partnered with The Atlantic Education International program.  The students attending our schools are from countries such as Columbia, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Turkey and China.  Special thanks to our home stay parents and AEI coordinators who open up their homes and hearts to provide Canadian cultural experiences for these students.  See gallery for more photos.
